- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, orange juice, and orange zest.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Spoon the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.
- Gently pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese filling.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve!
