  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A simple and delicious Easter dessert featuring a warm fruit filling topped with a buttery oat crisp. Perfect for spring gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed fruit (peaches, apples, berries), fresh or frozen
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine fruit, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, lemon zest, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the topping.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the fruit filling.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. If the topping starts to brown too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
