Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium high heat. Toss the beef cubes with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.nGrill the beef cubes for 2 3 minutes per side, until nicely seared.nIn a large oven safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery and cook for 5 7 minutes, until softened.nAdd the mushrooms and garlic and cook for another 3 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are softened.nSprinkle the flour over the vegetables and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth.nStir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.nAdd the grilled beef to the skillet and stir to combine.nIn a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.nStir in the milk until just combined. Gently fold in the cheddar cheese.nDrop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the beef filling, covering the entire surface.nBake in the preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.nLet the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
