Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
