- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- Optional: sprinkle of paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a sheet pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, pickle relish, mustard, and pepper.
- Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Place 4 slices, butter-side down, on the sheet pan.
- Top each with tuna salad and a cheese slice.
- Place the remaining bread slices on top, butter-side up.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden and cheese is melted.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve.
