  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried lavender buds (optional)
  • Yellow food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
  3. Stir in vanilla, then beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and lavender(optional) until smooth.
  6. Pour brownie batter into the pan.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter and swirl.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares and serving!
